Site Upgrades and Opportunities for Bar Owners and More Cities

We first created Bars For Us to solve a specific problem we faced in finding bars in Raleigh, since that’s where we mostly lived and we wanted to create something to help us and our friends.

Since we launched the site last Sunday we realized there were a couple pretty big opportunities to help more people, and we’ve spent the past week working on upgrades to the site to make it possible.

Today we were able to launch the first upgrade, which focuses on two things:

It’s been a lot of hard work over the last couple of days to get ready for this, and we’re now excited about growing the site in Raleigh and beyond.

We’re seeing some issues with some browsers, and we are working on it

During initial development of the Bars For Us service during RTP Startup Weekend we had a limited amount of time for us to debug and test Bars For Us.

Our team predominantly worked with Firefox 3 and currently see no issues using this browser. However, it has come to our attention that Internet Explorer users are pulling up Bars For Us and it’s just not looking right.

Rest assured that these issues are being looked at!

We would appreciate any outside help so if any readers see issues with Bars For Us then please send us feedback. Please include details on the browser you are using and resolution of your screen so that we can best understand what is going on.

What is Bars For Us?

Bars For Us takes the guesswork out of finding your city’s best bars.

Bars For Us has created an easy way for people to find bars using the criteria most important to them. Bar listings are displayed on a map and change dynamically as people refine their search. Bars are able to highlight their listing by displaying advertisements and extra information about their special nights, offers and drink specials.

In later evolutions Bars For Us will allow people to register to follow and share their favorite bars, and bars will be able to register to deliver highly targeted and relevant promotions to their followers.

Bars For Us helps people find the best bars for them and helps bars promote and advertise, using a simple to use user-interface and a detailed database of information about bars.
